
Mr Guangzhi Niu
Piano Teacher (On Leave)
Guangzhi began piano studies at the age of eight. He has worked with various musicians including string players and singers. He has over five years of professional teaching experience, working with students of all ages and skill levels. From 2008, Guangzhi has won prizes at various piano competitions including the Ryde, St. George and Sydney eisteddfods. Since 2014, Guangzhi has worked closely with singer Julie Jong Eun as an accompanist and associate artist, together performing and in lessons with professors including Ulrike Sonntag of Stuttgart University and David Miller and Gerard Willems of Sydney Conservatorium.
Recently, Guangzhi has collaborated with conductor Keiren Brandt Sawdy as a Choir Accompanist for the Men’s Shed Chorale. He is currently working under the capacity of Repetiteur for Anke Hoeppner-Ryan at the Sydney Conservatorium and for Anne Way at Anne Way’s Vocal Studio. In 2016 he completed the Master’s in Music Studies degree in Piano Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium studying with Natalia Sheludiakova. He has previously studied with Clemens Leske and attended the masterclasses of Paul Rickard-Ford and Gerard Willems. In 2017 he was pianist for diction classes at the Sydney Conservatorium and has worked as a rehearsal pianist for Sydney Philharmonia.
