Osvaldo Junior started his music studies at the age of 8.  Back in Brazil he was part of a Young orchestra called”Orquestra Filarmonica infanto-Juvenil de São Paulo” under the direction of the american conductor Gretchen Miller. Also in Brazil, he was part several orchestras and Wind ensembles including: Orquestra Jovem Bachiana and Banda Sinfonica Jovem de São Paulo.  During that time he had lessons with: Rogerio Wolf and Helcio Latorre.

In 2009 he was awarded an assistantship  at Florida State University under the tutelage of Eva Amsler to pursue his master’s degree. In 2011 he was awarded a merit scholarship at Depaul University in Chicago to study with Mary Stolper. In 2013 started his Doctoral studies at University of Sydney under the tutelage of Aldo Baerten.
