Violin Teacher

Ariana Ricci is a second year BMus Performance student studying classical voice and violin as a full scholarship student at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She graduated from the Conservatorium High School in 2019. Ariana started studying violin at the age of four and was a scholarship student at the Conservatorium Open Academy Rising Stars program from 2010. From a young age, she took lessons from her grandfather, Ruggiero Ricci until his death in 2012.

She made her solo debut with orchestra on the violin at the age of nine and has gone on to give many performances as a soloist on violin and voice in Australia and overseas. Highlights have included performing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with orchestra at the age of 14, singing Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate with the CHS orchestra in 2019 as a winner of the CHS Concerto Competition, and performing Villa-Lobos’s Bacchianas Brasilieras for the Governor General of Australia (2018).

She received my AMusA on violin in 2013 and her LMusA in 2015. In 2020 she received a Golden Medal in the Voice – Young Artist category of the 2nd Vienna International Music Competition and a Silver Medal in the Voice – Young Artist category of the Manhattan International Music Competition. Ariana was part of the Sydney Youth Orchestra and Sydney Children’s Choir for many years and has performed in venues such as Barcelona’s Palau de la Musica, Paris’s Notre Dame and London’s Westminster Abbey, as well as performing here many times in Angel Place, Government House and the Sydney Opera House under the baton of conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy and David Robertson.
