Ms Joy Chen
Piano Teacher
Joy was born in Sydney Australia and moved to Shenzhen China in 2001. She began her piano studies at the age of 6 with a teacher from Shenzhen Danzhaoyi Piano Art Center. Joy has won prizes in national and international piano competitions since a young age, such as 1stprize in the 1stShenzhen Piano Open Competition 2011; 1stprize in both the youth group and the Chinese work senior group of the 2ndGermany Irmler Piano Competition 2011; 1stprize in the 1stYamaha China Shenzhen Piano Competition 2012; 2ndprize in Division C of the 2ndShenzhen Piano Open Competition 2012, 2ndprize in Liszt Free Choice group of the 17thHong Kong Asia Piano Open Competition 2012.
Joy continued her piano study as she moved to Sydney Australia in 2013. Since then, she studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Rising Star Program with scholarships under Dr Paul Rickard Ford. Joy received several awards at local eisteddfods throughout the years, and was also one of the finalist of EPTA Piano Competition in Belgium 2014. Joy completed her LMusA Diploma with award with distinction in 2016.
