Violin Teacher

Li Gu began learning the violin at the age of seven. In 2002, she studied the violin with Jingqiong Wang at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, and presently she graduated as Master of Music (Performance) under the most eminent Professor Goetz Richter, Chair of String Unit of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

At the age of 11 Li partook in the prestigious fifth Guangzhou Violin Competition and received wonderful praise and a ‘High Commendation’ in 2000.  In 2006 she was invited to play Vivaldi’s “Summer” from “The Four Seasons” with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.  Li attained the runner up of the 23rd Inner West Eisteddfod String Competition in 2007.  Later that year Li performed the Symphonie Espagnole Op.21 by Lalo under the baton of the American conductor Raphael Jimenez in Guangzhou and Zhejiang, China.  The year 2007 culminated in December with an outstanding performance of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor under the baton of Julliard’s Eduardo Zuber with both the Hunan Symphony Orchestra and the Guangxi Symphony Orchestra. The performance of Sibelius Concerto with the Mexico Symphony Orchestra in March 2009 was once again a great success for Li.    In 2011, Li performed the Paganini Violin Concerto with the Guang Xi orchestra in Nanning, China with critical acclaim.

Li is full of passion in music, not only she is an experienced solo performer, she also enjoy both chamber and orchestra performance as well as education. In 2013, Li was the Concertmaster of the Sydney Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.
