Ms Ying Ho
Piano Teacher
Pianist Ying Ho has performed extensively throughout Australia, England, Europe and Israel. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Tatiana Sarkissova, and the Universität der Künste in Berlin with Jacques Rouvier. She is currently completing her DMA at the Sydney Conservatorium with Dr Paul Rickard-ford.
A full scholarship holder during her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Ying received the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music International Scholarship, the Else Cross (Brahms) Prize, and the Maud Hornby Memorial Prize. She is also a recipient of the Kathleen and Allison Short Memorial Scholarship, the John and Dorothy Vimpani Scholarship, and the Sonya Hanke Memorial Prize at the Sydney Conservatorium. She has worked with many distinguished musicians in masterclasses including Alexander Satz, Bruno Canino, Sergei Babayan, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Jeremy Menuhin and Aquiles delle Vigne.
Ying has won many competitions including 1st Prize at the Kawai Australasian Youth Concerto Competition and the Sydney Conservatorium Concerto Competition. She has worked with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Youth Orchestra, the Western Australian Youth Orchestra and the Kuringai Philharmonic Orchestra. As a chamber musician, she performed in festivals including the Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar in England, the Duo Sonata Program with Pierre Amoyal and Bruno Canino at the Lausanne Academie de Musique in Switzerland, and the Estivo Chamber Music Festival in Italy. She was closely involved with the Sydney Symphony Fellowship Program, and appeared with the fellows in many chamber music concerts. She has been broadcasted on ABC-Classic FM including their Sunday Live Series, and 2MBS-FM on numerous occasions.
