Hurley Baker is currently studying a Masters of Music Studies (Performance) under the guidance of Roger Benedict and Janet Davies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Originally from Adelaide, Hurley studied under Keith Crellin at the Elder Conservatorium, completing his Bachelor of Music (Honours) in 2016. Whilst there he performed in principle positions of the Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and New Music Collective, and was a recipient of the Varley Scholarship for outstanding merit in Classical viola, and the EMR Travel Scholarship. He also performed with the Australian Youth Orchestra on both February and July seasons in 2017.

Hurley has had lessons with leading soloists and chamber musicians of prestigious institutions throughout Germany and the UK. These institutions include the Munich Hochschule fur Musik und Theater, Hanns Eisler Hochschule fur Musik Berlin and the Royal Academy of Music in London.

As a chamber musician, Hurley has performed in the Friday lunch hour series at Elder Hall, participated in a master class with the Borodin String Quartet and has performed alongside members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in the Piano Quintet of Dohnányi.
