Ms Suyeon Ro is studying Master of Music (Performance) at the University of Sydney under supervision of Dr. Goetz Richter and Prof. Roger Benedict. She also completed her Honours Degree in 2016 at the University of Adelaide. She has studied with many reputable violinists and violists both in Australia including; Anna Webb (violist in Kegelstatt Ensemble) and most recently Keith Crellin (Former Head of Strings at Elder Conservatorium Music).
Suyeon is a recipient of many awards and prizes including Osan Music Education Competition Prize, Suwon Students Music Competition Award, Kyung Hee University Competition Award and Herald Music Competition Prize.
She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician with the Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, Marryatville High School’s Chamber Orchestra, Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra and Adelaide Youth Orchestra. Suyeon is a keen chamber musician and is currently a member of the Maple String Quartet, which has attended and performed many master classes and various chamber workshop programs.
To explore more on her career, Suyeon has also completed an orchestral traineeship program with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and has been teaching privately since 2012. Most Recently, Suyeon has performed with Baudin Trio at Elder Hall and Pilgrim Church and also successfully completed her opera tour with Co-opera in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales, performing Don Giovanni, Barber of Seville, Eugene Onegin and La Boheme.
