Guidelines
Over the past few years AMA has gained a reputation as the leading educator in String instruments throughout Sydney. Our string program is specialised for students of all ages (K-6). For those that are new to the program, your child will take on weekly tutorials with our excellent team of musicians and specialised instrument tutors on the Violin, Viola and Cello. The tutorials will help guide your child towards our combined string ensemble performances at the end of each semester. These staff members are active in ensuring that all school ensembles are well planned and continually developing, and that all students are demonstrating our Student Values consistently.
2019 Connells Point Public School String Program
Connells Point Public School is a school full of opportunities when it comes to the Arts and Music, the school has a strong tradition with its wonderful band program which features Woodwind and Brass instruments. The brand new 2019 School String program offering violin, viola, and cello tutorials and ensemble rehearsals on a Friday afternoon during school term. String Program is open to all children in years K-6, welcoming all beginner students who are in their first year of playing their instrument or students who has been playing their instruments. Consistent progress is best achieved by practising and performing on a good quality and well maintained instrument.
At AMA School String Program you can hire or purchase your instrument directly through our office. All of our high quality string instruments come with a professional set up and bow.
Instruments Hire Information
Arco Music Academy offer a competitive instrument hire program. For a monthly fee of $30, you can be sure of a high quality instrument which you can purchase at a great rate at any time.
Our teachers regularly assess their student’s growth, and offer their recommendations of when a larger instrument may be required. As part of our hire program, all of our string instruments can be swapped for a larger instrument at any time during the hiring period at no additional cost. Please Note: String instruments are sized according to the students, and it is likely that younger students will progress through a couple of instruments before arriving at a full size instrument. Typically, a student can expect to maintain the same instrument for anywhere from 6-24 months.
